The Twilio toolkit lets agents send and read SMS messages through the Twilio platform using your account's phone numbers.
Capabilities
- Send SMS — dispatch messages from any SMS-capable Twilio number on the account, with support for trial-account restrictions (verified destinations only) and deduplication awareness via returned message SIDs.
- Read conversations — retrieve the full two-way SMS exchange with a specific contact (both inbound and outbound), paginated newest-first with cursor support.
- List received messages — page through inbound SMS on a given Twilio number, newest first, using a stable cursor tied to that number and page size.
- Discover phone numbers — enumerate SMS-capable numbers on the account in ascending order, with pagination to handle large inventories.
Secrets
This toolkit uses no OAuth flow. All authentication is handled via Twilio API credentials passed as secrets.

TWILIO_ACCOUNT_SID— The unique identifier for your Twilio account. Found in the Twilio Console dashboard under Account Info. It begins withAC. -
TWILIO_API_KEY_SID— The SID of a Twilio API Key, which begins withSK. Create one in the Twilio Console under Account → API keys & tokens (docs). API Keys are scoped to your account and do not require special permissions beyond account access for SMS operations. Copy the SID immediately after creation. -
TWILIO_API_KEY_SECRET— The secret associated with the API Key above. It is shown only once at creation time in the Twilio Console; copy and store it securely before closing the page. If lost, you must create a new API Key.
